Dana White loves his fans
Ever have those days where you wonder why the Hell you still have faith in people? I have these days all the time. It seems to me that kindness, generosity, charity and common decency are lost in a mess of self centered, self indulgent assholes. There are tons of movies out about this phenomenon, the most recent one being the dud, "Legion." It's pretty much about God losing faith in humanity, and his decision to exterminate us, but one, lone angel, Michael, believed in man, and he came down to save us all, yada yada yada. I have often felt that loss of faith in people, and sometimes wish I could lay down the hammer and wipe a good portion of you fuckers out (I have exceptions here, and you all know who you are). This may sound kinda cheesey, but Dana White did something so awesomely generous for his fans (some more unappreciative and undeserving then others), that he sorta restored my faith in people.So here's the story. A few days ago, I saw Dana (http://twitter.com/danawhite) tweet about his surgery for a deviated septum. He had attached a picture to it, and I immediately thought, this is UG gold for romo-shoppers, so I decided to have a contest. Of course I ended up bungling the first post, and he had to correct me, but was so cool in his following posts, that the contest really started taking off. Great entries were coming in, and he participated in the thread, frequently posting his approval. When it came time to pick a winner, I asked the lovely, vivacious, Cindy O to contact him to choose a winner. Here's where it gets good. He decided that he couldn't choose a single winner, that he liked them all. So he told her to tell me that he was going to reward ALL the participants with prizes, courtesy of himself. He gave each person a UFC gym bag and 2 tickets to any UFC event of their choosing. That's 27 gym bags and 54 UFC tickets. You do the math on that. Needless to say, I was floored by this gesture. Why would he bother with such extravagance, when he gets so much shit from the posters in the mighty UG? I'll tell ya why. Because Dana loves his fans. Even when you fuckers are slamming him for farting too loud or looking too fit, or not fit enough, griping about the way he runs the UFC, or are just pissed off that he breathes, he still loves you guys. So the next time you ingrates want to snivel about this or that, refer to this incident to get your shit into better perspective.
